Zenly alternative

See your friends, without sharing your location 24/7

Since Zenly shut down, a lot of people have been looking for an app that shows who's out right now. Lesgoo does that, but differently: your friends only see you when you say you're out.

What was Zenly?

Zenly was a map app for friends. You opened a colorful map and saw where your friends were, live and constantly updated. Plenty of people used it to notice on the fly: oh, they're just around the corner.

Snap, the company behind Snapchat, bought Zenly in 2017. The app was shut down in February 2023 and has been gone ever since.

What people are looking for now

If you're searching for a Zenly alternative, you probably want that feeling back: glance at your phone and see who's out. No asking around in the group chat, no planning, just joining in.

But Zenly had a side not everyone liked: your location was always on. At night, at home, and when you just wanted to be left alone.

What Lesgoo does differently

Lesgoo flips it around. There's no map where everyone is visible all the time. You only show up when you check in.

• Only when you want. You check in when you head out: with a photo, your vibe and your neighborhood. Before and after, nobody sees a thing.
• Only the neighborhood. Your friends see “Schanze”, not your street. You can also show just the city or leave the place out entirely.
• Only for who you pick. With every check-in you choose: all friends, certain groups or your own selection.
• Only for as long as you want. You decide how long your check-in stays visible, up to 18 hours. Then it's gone.
• No background tracking. Lesgoo only asks for your location while you're using the app. Our server only gets the name of the neighborhood, never your coordinates.

Then comes the part Zenly never had: your friends see your check-in and tap Lesgoo! You know right away who's coming. No back and forth in the group chat.

Who Lesgoo is for, and who it isn't

Lesgoo is for people 18 and over who want to meet up with friends spontaneously: for coffee, sports, a bar or a game night.

If you want family or a partner to see where you are at all times, Lesgoo is the wrong tool. Apple's Find My, which is already on every iPhone, is made for that.
